Spring Term 2

We have had a fantastic half term on the run up to Easter. We’ve dressed up for world book day, shared our homework projects and enjoyed some Easter fun. At the start of the term, we enjoyed a moving monsters project. Click here to take a look.

Our writing topic this half term has been the Titanic and it has been fantastic. Please take a look at what we have been up to. Click here to go to the Titanic writing page.

During our maths lessons we have been busy learning how to problem-solve and reason. We have learnt we must be able to explain how we get to an answer and why it is correct. Also, we have learnt column addition and column subtraction which will help us to solve any addition or subtraction we face.

We also continued to learn how to tell the time and we’re getting pretty good at it now. To help us, we made our very own clock dictionaries.

In the afternoons, we have enjoyed our Settlement topic with Mrs White. Can you remember what a hamlet is? What about a town? What about a city? We also decided whether we would prefer to live in an urban or rural area.

“I would like to live in a rural area because I like nature.”

“I would like to live in a rural area because I want to work on a farm and own a tractor.”

“In an urban area, you wouldn’t have to learn to drive because there would be public transport.”

“There’s so much more to do in an urban area!”

We also looked at and discussed what would make a good settlement. We decided we would need a good water supply, shelter, protection and transport links.

We have also enjoyed our art topic this term with Miss Mayne. We designed our made our own Titanic inspired jewellery. We learnt how to make a bracelet or a necklace using a variety of materials. Take a look at the jewellery we made, isn’t it beautiful?
