Author Visit - Billy Bob Buttons
On Thursday 18th May, we welcomed published author Billy Bob Buttons into our classrooms. What an exciting opportunity!
Billy Bob Buttons is the award-winning author of thirteen children's novels including the Rubery Book Award finalist, Felicity Brady and the Wizard's Bookshop, the much loved The Gullfoss Legends, TOR Assassin Hunter, TOR Wolf Rising, the hysterical Muffin Monster and the UK People's Book Prize winner, I Think I Murdered Miss.
Billy Bob held workshops in both KS2 classrooms, sharing his wisdom on the key points of writing. The children learnt how character development is the main ingredient to writing a great story, and how using similes and metaphors really help to build up a picture of the character for the reader. Using all five sense really helps to describe the character, and by using similes that everyone can relate to is really important. The children are really excited to use what they have learnt to write some amazing stories.

We already have some budding authors in school who were eager to question Billy Bob Buttons about his career.
Billy was also available after school to sign books and to meet our children and parents. Please take a look at Billy's website to find out more about this amazing author.
